Comparison

Looking for a Secure Redact alternative?

Secure Redact is a capable, browser-based redaction service — strong in education, and easy to start with because there is nothing to install.

The trade-off is where your footage goes. Secure Redact is cloud-based: the video is uploaded to the vendor and processed off-site.

For a lot of organisations handling CCTV — police evidence, government, security-sensitive buildings — that is a hard stop. The footage is not allowed to leave the building. Re:Mask does the same automatic face and plate redaction, but entirely offline on your own PC, and seals the result into an encrypted file with playback limits.

What you get

Everything in Re:Mask, included.

No per-seat upsell — this is the product.

AI detection

Finds every person and vehicle across the timeline — no frame-by-frame scrubbing.

Four masking modes

AI-auto, select-object, manual and region — mixed freely on one clip.

Fully offline

Runs on your own PC. No upload, no cloud, no internet connection required.

Encrypted export

Ship a sealed, password-protected .innoflow file instead of a bare MP4.

Dedicated player

The recipient opens the file in the Re:Mask Player with a password — nowhere else.

Playback limits

Bind each release to an expiry date and a play-count cap. When the window closes, it stops opening.

Screen capture blocking

The player blocks screen recording while the footage is on screen.

Watermarking

Composite a text or image watermark onto the output, pinned to any of five positions.

Honest fit

Which one is right for you?

Re:Mask is the better fit when…

  • Your footage legally or by policy cannot go to the cloud — it must be processed inside the building.
  • You need an air-gapped or offline workflow with no internet connection.
  • You want to control the clip after hand-off — encryption, expiry, play-count, a locked player.
  • You would rather pay per machine than per cloud seat.

Secure Redact is the better fit when…

  • You want nothing to install and browser access from anywhere.
  • Cloud storage and processing are acceptable under your policy.
  • You want cloud-based team collaboration and Secure Redact's education tooling.

If cloud is acceptable to you, Secure Redact is a polished, well-supported option with a genuinely strong education offering. Re:Mask exists for the cases where uploading the footage simply is not allowed.

We will walk you through it on your own files — offline, on your own machine.
