Secure Redact is a capable, browser-based redaction service — strong in education, and easy to start with because there is nothing to install.
The trade-off is where your footage goes. Secure Redact is cloud-based: the video is uploaded to the vendor and processed off-site.
For a lot of organisations handling CCTV — police evidence, government, security-sensitive buildings — that is a hard stop. The footage is not allowed to leave the building. Re:Mask does the same automatic face and plate redaction, but entirely offline on your own PC, and seals the result into an encrypted file with playback limits.
| Secure Redact | Re:Mask | |
|---|---|---|
| Processing | Cloud / SaaS browser-based; footage uploaded to the vendor |
On-premise, on your own PC no upload, no internet required |
| Where the footage goes | To the vendor's cloud for processing | Never leaves your machine |
| Primary audience | Education, healthcare, policing | Schools, clinics, care homes, building management |
Secure Redact product details as published on secureredact.ai, July 2026. We describe its primary cloud product; if you use a different deployment option, tell us and we will note it.
No per-seat upsell — this is the product.
Finds every person and vehicle across the timeline — no frame-by-frame scrubbing.
AI-auto, select-object, manual and region — mixed freely on one clip.
Runs on your own PC. No upload, no cloud, no internet connection required.
Ship a sealed, password-protected .innoflow file instead of a bare MP4.
The recipient opens the file in the Re:Mask Player with a password — nowhere else.
Bind each release to an expiry date and a play-count cap. When the window closes, it stops opening.
The player blocks screen recording while the footage is on screen.
Composite a text or image watermark onto the output, pinned to any of five positions.
If cloud is acceptable to you, Secure Redact is a polished, well-supported option with a genuinely strong education offering. Re:Mask exists for the cases where uploading the footage simply is not allowed.
We will walk you through it on your own files — offline, on your own machine.
